Chris Whaley is an amateur natural history photographer who has been capturing images for 40 years. He tackles all subjects in the natural world, from landscapes to insects, with a special interest in fungi. He started with black and white film before progressing to colour transparency, a favourite for many years, using Kodachrome, Ectachrome, and finally Fujifilm Provia and Velvia. Chris now shoots in digital. Over the years a variety of equipment from several manufacturers has been used, although he has his favourite brand which he has stayed loyal to for many years now.
As you can see from the gallery, Chris at times tackles other subjects.
The Image of the poppies was taken many years ago in Norfolk on film and scanned. The image of the fruit above is more recent, 2010, taken at Hampton Court Flower Show using a digital camera.
